Bridging Abilities first trip to the OCC

On the 18th February the Macassar Bridging Abilities exercise group attended the OCC Wheelchair Challenge in George. On behalf of our team I would like to thank everyone who was involved in us been able to be there.

The transport that took us there was very comfortable and the driver was very safe and had patience with us while traveling to George. Although the accommodation wasn’t so wheelchair friendly, we did enjoy our evening at the Wilderness backpackers.

Everyone had a nice day while competing in the race. Myself and two others did the 10km race and our other seven participants did the 5km fun run. We all had a lot of fun. The weekend turned out to be awesome and we would love to go next year. We would like to thank the Ansie Swart’s foundation for making this event possible and also QUASA for sponsoring us with accommodation fees as well as the OCC for their sponsorship. Without any of these none of that would have happened.

We are so looking forward to next year’s OCC event as every member was so happy and enjoyed every moment while being there.

We thank you

Gavin johnson (Bridging Abilities’ Macassar Group Member)
